50 Latinx/Hispanic Owned Restaurants In Houston To Support During Hispanic Heritage Month

Happy National Hispanic Heritage Month Houston! Hispanic Heritage Month runs from September 15 to October 15. During the month, people tend to celebrate Hispanic Americans from different cultures, and the contributions they have made. National Hispanic Heritage Month also invites people to enjoy and learn about different crafts, music, culture, style, and foods from different Hispanic countries. From Mexico, Pero, El Salvador, and Guatemala, and everywhere in between.

One of the many things about Houston, is that the city acknowledges and celebrates the many cultures and ethnicities that make our city unique. There is something that everyone will enjoy! You’ll find many cultural shops and restaurants, but today we are showing some extra love to some of the many Latinx/Hispanic owned restaurants.

La Casa Bakery is an authentic restaurant and bakery. La Casa Bakery is family owned and operated near Downtown Houston. La Casa Bakery  is owned by the Garza family. The small business serves delicious homemade pan dulce (Mexican sweet bread), along with delicious Mexican plates. Treat yourself out to breakfast tacos, conchas, flautas and tortas alongside delicious coffee or a Mexican coke.

Are you wanting to satisfy your sweet tooth? Stop by Sweets By Belen and enjoy delicious homemade South American pastries. Sweets By Belen is owned by Belen Bailey, an immigrant from Peru. The inspiration behind Belen is her Peruvian culture, mother, and grandmother. Their mission statement “[commits] to [bring] a smile whatever the occasion by providing the perfect sweet..” You can enjoy a variety of desserts including flan, arroz con leche, cakes, ice cream, macarons, and alfajores, just to name a few. Sweets by Belen also donates to charities and supports important causes in the communities of Texas and Peru.

We weren’t kidding when we said that Houston has many great restaurants that everyone can enjoy. Do you follow a vegan lifestyle and still want to enjoy delicious Hispanic foods? Make your way down to Veegos. Veegos serves delicious authentic Mexican food that is vegan. Their made to order menu includes nachos, chips and guac, and pozole.
